MWV Specialty Chemicals is the leading,worldwide resource for activated carbon products used in fuel vapor emission control systems. Our Nuchar activated carbon products have proven life-of-vehicle performance, and have been used for over 35 years and in more than 700 million vehicles worldwide. Our products collectively recover more than 10,000 metric tons of fuel each day - preventing these emissions from escaping into the environment and allowing this potentially lost fuel to be used as the energy source for which it was originally intended. Customers (engineers and emission control experts) can select activated carbon products with the proven physical properties and operational flexibility needed to achieve optimum performance in their emission control systems.

We operate the world’s two largest wood-based activated carbon plants in Covington, Virginia, U.S. and Wickliffe, Kentucky, U.S. to provide customers around the world with a dependable product supply. Our quality management systems are certified to ISO/TS 16949.
