High Gasoline Working Capacity Nuchar carbons possess the maximum porosity in the critical size range for fuel vapors. This provides the highest working capacity coupled with low retention after purge. This unique combination allows for smaller, more efficient canister designs by our customers. See data - slide one (.PDF) and slide two (.PDF). Low Density Nuchar activated carbons are wood-based and have a volumetric weight 30 to 40 percent lower than other base materials used for activated carbon. Its low density offers both a cost savings and a reduction in the canister’s weight. See data (.PDF). Durability To meet automotive industry standards, activated carbon must retain its adsorptive and desorptive characteristics for the life of the vehicle. Our activated carbons consistently demonstrate their ability to meet these requirements. Our proven track record reflects product reliability found in over 700 million canisters worldwide. See data - slide one and slide two (.PDF). Low Diurnal Emissions Ever tightening global regulations place greater importance on reducing emissions from purged canister systems. Our activated carbon products are engineered to purge more efficiently, resulting in lower diffusional (bleed) emissions during diurnal cycling, compared to other activated carbons. Low Flow Restrictions We manufacture pelletized and granular carbons in a range of sizes so our customers have flexibility in designing canisters to achieve optimum flow characteristics. The combination of low dust content and reliable particle size control optimizes flow restriction and provides consistent performance over the life of the vehicle. See data (.PDF). |
