Environmental, Safety and Health Responsibility

Our Pollution Prevention Program continually looks for ways to reduce emissions to the air, land and water and lessen the impact of its operation on the environment, employees and the community. The plant also shares information about its operations with the community through the MWV-Covington Community Advisory Panel.

Community Involvement

The Covington Carbon facility contributes to the community through involvement in activities, including the Greater Alleghany United Fund, Chamber of Commerce and youth and civic organizations in Covington and Alleghany County. The facility purchases a science program annually to meet SOL requirements for all area middle schools.
