Food

• Uses: Our Nuchar® high surface area high pore volume wood-based granular activated carbons are used in fixed beds to purify many different types of liquid food ingredients including edible oils, extracts, concentrates, acids and additives.
• Function: Highly efficient, these granular activated carbons adsorb high molecular weight color bodies and impurities to a greater degree than carbons made from other raw materials due to their large volume of meso and macro pores.
• Options: We offer a range of surface areas, pore size distributions, and particle sizes to meet many food ingredient fixed bed purification needs.
• Quality: These granular activated carbons meet the food-grade quality of activated carbon as defined by the current edition of the Food Chemicals Codex.

Beverage

• Uses: Our Nuchar® high surface area high pore volume wood-based granular activated carbons are used in the fixed bed purification of many different types of beverage liquids for a variety of beverages including juices, concentrates, malternatives and distilled spirits.
• Function: Our highly efficient granular activated carbons adsorb high molecular weight color bodies, off flavors and impurities to a greater degree than carbons made from other raw materials due to their large volume of meso and macro pores.
• Options: We offer a range of surface areas, pore size distributions, particle sizes and pH to meet your beverage processing needs.
• Certification: These granular activated carbons meet the food grade quality of activated carbon as defined by the current edition of the Food Chemicals Codex.

Chemicals

• Uses: Our Nuchar® high surface area, high pore volume wood-based granular activated carbons are used in the purification and decolorization of different types of liquid phase fixed bed processing for use in a wide variety of chemicals and chemical intermediates. Our Nuchar granular activated carbons are suitable for single use applications and applications where in situ chemical regeneration is used. They are not suitable for large scale thermal reactivation and transport is used.
• Function: These highly efficient granular activated carbons adsorb high molecular weight color bodies and impurities to a greater degree than carbons made from other raw materials due to their large volume of meso and macro pores.

Municipal Drinking Water

• Uses: Our high-surface-area Nuchar® granular activated carbons are widely recognized as especially effective for purifying drinking water and industrial water/beverage water and are particularly suited for the reduction of MIB and Geosmin taste and odor components.
• Function: The ultra-low-dust and high-quality aspects of these granular carbons allow for the use of fewer pounds of carbon to achieve higher levels of taste, odor, color and agricultural organics removal in municipal water supplies.  Low ash content prevents the formation of scale.

• Quality: Nuchar granular carbons meet ANSI/AWWA B 600-05 and are certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61. They also meet the food grade quality standards for activated carbon as defined by the most recent addition of the Food Chemicals Codex.

Point of Use/Point of Entry Water Filtration

• Uses: Nuchar® RGC and AquaGuard granular activated carbons are especially effective for purifying drinking water at the end of tap and at point of entry into the home. Our RGC and AquaGuard granular carbons are particularly suited for the reduction of chlorine, taste and odor components using granular carbon filled cartridges and block filters. And premium AquaGuard has been a key to the reduction of chloramines to maintain the taste of beverage fountain drinks in many commercial settings for years.
• Function: The ultra-low-dust and high-quality aspects of our granular POU/POE carbons allow for the use of fewer pounds of carbon to achieve higher levels of chloramine, chlorine, taste and odor removal in point-of-use water filters and pitchers.
• Quality: Our AquaGuard products are the highest performance products available for the control of chloramines (commonly used in large municipalities to sanitize drinking water).Our RGC and AquaGuard meet ANSI/AWWA B 600-05 and are certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61.
