Post-Consumer Recycled Fiber Paperboard

We can make MWV food service paperboards with up to 30 percent post-consumer recycled fiber (PCF). Using PCF in high volume paperboard products for food service packaging helps us extend the usable life of a valued natural resource.

Made to Stringent Standards

With our high standards for product quality and stewardship, MWV voluntarily ensures that our food service paperboards comply with stringent USFDA and ISEGA food contact standards. We source our recycled fiber from a dedicated supplier that produces the only recycled pulp that meets USFDA and Health Canada standards. MWV was the first paperboard manufacturer to develop and introduce food service-grade PCF paperboard that maintained compliance with these standards.

PCF Partnerships

Initially introduced with only 10 percent PCF content, the development process for this product took almost three years, during which time we collaborated extensively with the USFDA, the fiber supplier, package converter and end use customer. The result for the high-profile coffee company customer was awards and recognition that clearly cemented their place as a sustainability leader.

Today, our latest developments engineered for our MWare® line offer paperboards with PCF up to 30 percent. For food service operators who embrace corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship part of their brand, MWare paperboards with PCF offer purity, deliver products made from renewable resources, and provide end-of-life solutions that can include commercial compostability.
