Over the last eight decades, our foresters have spent countless hours researching and cataloging every detail of our land, protecting special places, and managing the forest to provide valuable products. This commitment to responsible stewardship is our hallmark and a core value in our community planning efforts. We’re designing communities and open spaces that highlight special sites and are responsive to the needs and interests of our neighbors. East Edisto is one of those places. A 72,000 acre tract near Charleston, South Carolina, East Edisto presents a unique opportunity for the community and our company. In 2007, we launched a conservation-inspired planning process to develop a plan which can contribute to the region’s need for growth management, balancing economic vitality with the preservation of what’s best about the South Carolina Lowcountry… planning for our future while connecting with our past.
