Bruce V. Thomas

Career History

Mr. Thomas, 53, is senior vice president, Emerging Markets and Innovation, for MeadWestvaco Corporation. In this role, he focuses on leading our marketing and business development activities in key growth markets such as China, India and Eastern Europe.  Bruce also leads our global innovation function consisting of over 250 research and development and strategic marketing employees serving all of our business units.

Prior to joining MWV in May 2007, Bruce was President and CEO of Cadmus Communications Corporation, the world’s leading service provider to academic and scholarly publishers such as the American Medical Association, the British Medical Association, and the American Chemical Society.  In his leadership role with Cadmus, he led the expansion of their editorial and production platform in India, Singapore, China and the Caribbean Rim, growing market share, reducing publication cycle times for publishers, and and improving overall access to breakthrough scientific research.  During his tenure, Bruce also served as chief operating officer, chief financial officer and vice president, Law and Business Development. Before working at Cadmus, Bruce was a merger and acquisitions partner with Troutman Sanders LLP.
