Employee Relief Fund

We don’t like to think about it, but sometimes unfortunate events occur that are beyond our control.

MWV has a long history of responding to disasters throughout the world through international relief organizations such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. The global impact of these assistance programs is undeniable, yet MWV employees wanted to do something more to help colleagues affected by such events.

The opportunity came in 2005, after large natural disasters caused significant hardships for employees in some of the locations where we operate. MWV employees rallied to directly assist their fellow employees in need and shortly thereafter, the MeadWestvaco Employee Relief Fund was born.

The Fund provides financial assistance to employees and their families who have suffered hardships due to a natural or man-made disaster, no matter where they are located in the world. By collecting monetary contributions from employees and other sources, the Fund increases its ability to assist eligible employees during times of difficulty that are beyond their control.

MWV employees may download an application form here, or from the MeadWestvaco Employee Relief Fund page on the company’s intranet, or from the local human resources manager.
